Food cart beauty

This was one of my favorite images from the night. You can see the paper lanterns over the dance floor, the boardwalk, and the beautiful food carts. For more pictures from this reception, please see our previous post.

LDS Beach Reception

Our beach themed wedding reception looked like this:

The entry way had wooden pallet letters lit with globe lights hung over a pallet bench. It was here the guests were greeted and their photo was taken with a Fuji Intax 7mini camera, their picture printed, then they could paste their photo into the guest book with a hand written message.

This collage wall was also out in the foyer for the guests to admire.

Inside the gym/cultural hall, and above the guest book and gift table hung some instagram type pictures of the happy couple on handmade banners with a large initial of their last name.

Behind the scenes where food was prepped before serving. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, popcorn, cotton candy, cupcakes, and ice creams. There was also salt water taffy, water, lemonade, and then root beer and crush sodas.

From the ceiling over one half of the gym hung almost 1,000 Christmas lights adorned with ping pong balls. In between the strands of lights were gold triangles. They were gorgeous.

The tables were simple and fun. Red and white table runners with buckets of ice, root beer, and Crush sodas. The buckets were all different sizes and shapes. Some we owned, some we bought. I think the cheapest we found them was $6.00 and some change at A.C. Moore after a 40% off online coupon.

What beach would be complete without a boardwalk and food carts? Ours were custom made out of pallets, 2x4s, and cardboard. They looked amazing. We served the chips from a painted pallet with clips attached.

A few well placed grassy plants helped bring the beach feeling. Here is a better shot of the boardwalk. We used cardboard underneath to keep the pallets from scratching the wood floor.

Beach umbrellas from IKEA:

The ceiling over the dance floor was adorned with paper lanterns in white and gold.

The rented photo booth was a big hit too.

It was a great evening. The gym felt like the beach and everyone had a great time.
